George Sterling was an American writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area He was a prominent poet and playwright during the first quarter of the twentieth century and a proponent of Bohemianism. His work was admired by writers as diverse as Jack London, Upton Sinclair, Sinclair Lewis, and Theodore Dreiser who provides the introduction here. He is largely neglected today. First published in 1919 followed by a limited edition in 1920 by the Book Club of California.
