By: CAHIERS D'ART [Christian Zervos, ed.]

Price: $50.00

Quantity: 1 available

Small folio (9.75 x 12.5) Thick perfect bound and sewn wrappers. 164 pp. 120 ful-page b/w plates [Picasso]. 8 tipped-in plates [El Greco]. Short articles and poems by Christian Zervos, Paul Eluard, Georges Duthuit, Rene Char, Marcel Marien, R. Vaufrey, and Pierre Mabille. Text in French. Christian Zervos, a Picasso scholar, founded his journal Cahiers d'Art in 1926. The magazine featured contributions by scholars and critics alike in a wide range of fields, from prehistoric art to modern and was noted for its layout and presentation as much as its content. Condition: Fair. The text block and plates are very clean but thoroughly shaken; covers are poor, partially detached with significant loss to the spine, toning and light soiling to back cover. But if you are looking mostly for the plates, this is an inexpensive entry.
