1st editions. Softcover portfolios of loose Saul Steinberg drawings and lithographs. Four issues, 1966-1973. Approx. 11”x15”. Text in French.##### Derriere Le Miroir was a French art magazine created in 1946 and published until 1982. The "Behind the Mirror" was both an exhibition catalog and a review, coinciding with exhibitions at the Maeght galleries in Paris. The exhibitions focused on the works of up-and-coming Modernist artists, although several artists remained as part of the gallery’s regular stable. Issues contain high-quality reproductions of existing works as well as original lithographs published for the first time. Of the 250 total issues published, Steinberg was the sole artist in five and shared another with Richard Lindner. Issues range from 24-30 pp. and include 20-30 drawings each. No. 156 includes seven color lithographs, two of which are double page. No. 192 includes eleven drawings in both color and b/w, one of which is double-page and two of which are original lithos; No. 205 includes three original color lithographs, two of which are double page. No. 224 includes eleven drawings in color, one which is double page, and four of which are original lithographs; introductory text by Italo Calvino. ##### Condition: Issue 224 has two light creases on the front cover, otherwise all are near fine-fine.
