Large folio; Consisting of 14 double-page maps. "Designed to Accompany the Author's "Campaign of Waterloo - A Military History" (only the atlas here); approx. 15 1/2" x 12 3/4; bound in dark green cloth, pebbled spine and corners. The maps are taken from Charra's "Atlas of the Campaign", Jomini's "Atlas of the Wars of the Revolution", and other sources. Each show the positions and movements of the English, Prussian and French armies during the campaign. A few maps feature overprinting, as color emphasis for troop placement & town details. Condition: Good; some light wear & rubbing to boards; maps clean and in fine condition. John Codman Ropes, a Boston attorney, was a noted military historian and author, especially for the American Civil War and Napoleonic history.
