1st ed, folio, black cloth, gilt titles. Xv [3] 173 pp. A look at the architecture and landscape architecture of early Mexico. From 1925-1929, Garrison and Rustay set out to record a select number of examples of the 'minor domestic architecture' of Mexico. They recorded a limited number of individual buildings through a mixed presentation of photographs, perspective and measured drawings, elevations, floor plans and details to produce a highly useful tool for architects designing Hispanic buildings. Profuse photographic plates, line drawings, and plans. While the book is still in print, the first edition is difficult to find. Ex Libris the library of Oscar winning set designer Walter M. Scott, with his signature on the half-title page. Scott was a set decorator who worked on films such as The Sound of Music and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and television shows as varied as Batman, Lost in Space. He enjoyed a spectacular career in Hollywood, working on over 280 films and dozens of television series. He won six Academy Awards for set decoration, and was nominated for an additional fifteen. Laid in are three contemporary photographic postcards and one 8x10 photo of Casa Adobe, the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles. The cards re ex libris research library Twentieth Century -Fox. ##### Condition: Good; light wear to spine ends, a few areas of light, damp-staining to covers. [Because of reflection, it looks worse in the photo than it is. ]Light spottint to half-title and fep, front gutter lightly cracked. In original publisher’s dustjacket which is in poor condition; only the front and back panels are present, several large tears, numerous smaller tears.
