Typed letter signed “Ted.” 8-1/2”x11” on official John F. Kennedy for President letterhead. Dated November 17, 1960. A simple letter of thanks to a Los Angeles postal office manager for his help in ensuring that campaign materials were distributed without delay. “Your personal efforts in seeing that the mailings by Campaign Report, our western newsletter, were not delayed, and received highly expeditious treatment, are very much appreciated. / Russell Benedict, who edited the newsletter, is high in the praise of the Weight Room staff, and of your kindness. / Thank you again for your help, which was vitally important to us in making these large mailings. / Yours sincerely, “Ted” Edward M. Trifolded; Ink signature is legible but faded. 2”closed tear at bottom near center; 1” closed tear at top near photo of JFK; several smaller edge nicks. IMPORTANT: Because this is addressed as a personal letter two weeks after the election had ended, we think the signature is genuine. However, we have been unable to verify that the signature is Kennedy’s own and not than that of a secretary or other staff member. Accordingly, this is being sold only as a piece of JFK campaign memorabilia.
