Folio-sized portfolio of art nouveau furniture designs. [13"x18") 30 pastel-colored pochoir prints by Gustave Raynal illustrating room arrangements of buffets, dressers, libraries, armoires, umbrella stands, tables, and chairs. Loose sheets, printed on recto only, in paper-covered cardboard covers. Condition: 25 of the plates are very good-fine. Five are soiled or stained, primarily on the recto but occasionally on the verso as well. These were printed with very wide margins and the soiling only occasionally affects an image. The covers are detached with substantial soiling, damp-staining, and chipping; they have no printing on them and we suspect they are not the original covers. Lacking the original title and index page. Scarce; we have seen only one other copy and a few individual plates from a breaker set. OCLC [5 copies] incorrectly dates the work from circa 1913. The portfolio is announced as 'just published' in the July 1905 edition of the “Bibliographie de la France.” We suspect it was published in connection with one of the several art Salons held in Paris between 1902-1904 that introduced and advanced the nouveau revolution in art and design.
