Original Manuscript, with the author’s signature at end for the story “The Waterloo of Fido”. Manuscript of about 1400 words, written in ink on seventeen 12mo leaves. [Appears to be unpublished.] Loose sheets, enclosed in 12mo cloth envelope case; some leaves lightly soiled. Hastings was the co-author of the 1911 novel “The Professor’s Mystery” and a contributor to the 1922 anthology the Best American Humorous Short Stories [“Gideon”]. He also had a short career as a Hollywood screen writer, including several silent features for sisters Dorothy and Lillian Gish [1919-22].
