St. Dominic's Press, 1929. Good. 1st edition. 16mo, 1/4 leather illustrated boards. (56 pages) four wood engravings of animal puppets on strings. Limited to 450 copies. (Author's inked limitation statement is on title page.) The plays are entitled: The Horse, The Ox and Ass, St Martin, The Cat Burglar, Tunning Water, The Crockodile. The Interior is generally fine throughout, with some age-toning on end papers. A few small, light spots on front cover. Lightly rubbed along edges, cloth on front edge of spine somewhat frayed.This copy contains an inked gift inscription on the front end paper from bookseller Jake Zeitlin to Helen Dahlstrom (wife of Grant Dahlstrom, Castle Press) and has Zeitlin's shop seal affixed inside back cover..

Text and endpapers clean and unmarked. Fair d/w not priced clipped; flaps vg-fine but lacking lower 3 of spine and upper 1 with large chips, smaller tears and nicks on back panel and flap edges. Dampstain at edge of d/w spine. Nevertheless, quite scarce in d/w..

It tells of two ghost sisters Matsukaze (Wind in the Pines) and Murasame (Autumn Rain) who await their lover long after his and their deaths. Interior pages on rice-linen. Fine in original black cardboard slipcase; the slipcase s split open but present. No. 8 of 75 copies..

There are several very light 'rust' spots on the front cover and gutter and some light sunning on back panel. If only it had the jacket..
