An important slave narrative, and the author's second volume of autobiography. Sabin 20714. Fair: Covers--top edge and corners rubbed, the latter heavily so. Internally: end papers yellowed with several ink stains and pencil markings. Lower right corner of fly-leaves torn ˝”. Ex-lib label and ink stamp dating probably from 1920’s affixed inside front cover and first flyleaf; prior owner’s book plate on second flyleaf with another library ink stamp; minor damp-stain at bottom of third flyleaf not affecting the rest of the volume and a third ink-stamp at upper right of title page; front hinge partially cracked at top but still intact; the text block is clean and tight overall with only scattered light foxing; back panels tanned and lightly soiled but no damage.
